What we do
We sell clothes! But in a slightly different way to most…we curate clothes and accessories for women and men; ranging from high street to designer brands. All of our pieces have been hand picked from one of our charity partners’ stock, creating a sustainable and convenient shopping experience for you, and extra revenues for the charities we work with, a win-win situation if you ask us!
For the first time ever fertha brings multiple UK charities together under one roof. We take the time to select quality pieces with little or no pre-wear; many of our pieces are also new with the original tags. Check out our FAQs page for more information on the selection and quality of our pieces.
Why we do it
There are two real reasons why we spring out of bed every morning to do what we do. Firstly, we aim to ‘further’ the lifecycle of clothes, essentially recycle them, there are so many great items of clothing already out there that are perfect for you, there’s no need to always buy brand new pieces and, as we understand that sometimes it’s not as convenient to buy sustainably, we want to make it easy for you! We are not trying to condemn shoppers for buying newly produced garments, we simply believe that if more people replaced even just a few of their new purchases with items bought from fertha or any charity shop it would help to make the world a better place in so many ways.
Secondly, we aim to help ‘further’ the important and life-changing work our charity partners achieve by dedicating our spending power solely to them.
At the core of fertha is a socially conscious business that strives to support a variety of charities; we achieve this through sourcing our collections exclusively from the stock of our charity partners. This means that every purchase made from fertha directly benefits a specific charity, you can find out which charity your purchase supports in the description of each item.
Who we do it for
We try to support as many different charities as possible. At the moment our key charity partners are Sense, Shaw Trust and Clic Sargent. You can read more about each charity here.
